Rahul Buski (b. 1997, Wayanad, Kerala) emerges from a lineage of Indigenous tribal communities whose lives are deeply intertwined with the forest. For his people, the wilderness is not merely a habitat but a living source of identity, energy, and sustenance. Rooted in biodiversity and ancestral memory, his practice reflects an intimate and enduring relationship between human existence and the natural world.
Through his work, Rahul explores themes of identity, belonging, and history. Drawing from cultural memory, social struggle, and caste-based realities, his art becomes a dialogue between nature and lived experience. It stands as a narrative of resilience, resistance, and hope.
Buski has participated in the 49th Kerala State Exhibition and the Kochi-Muziris Biennale 2025–26. He has recently received an offer of commissioned artwork from Planetary Health and Relational Wellbeing, a British Academy sponsored research project led by the University of Westminster in London, the National Law School of India University in Bengaluru, and the Policy and Development Advisory Group in New Delhi.
He currently lives and works in Kerala.
