Thota Vaikuntam's (b.1942,Telangana) artistic journey began at the College of Fine Arts and Architecture in Hyderabad, where he honed his skills in painting.

He is also the proud recipient of awards like National Award for Painting (1993); The Biennale Award from Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal (1988-89).
